A dental bridge is a way to replace a missing tooth. The bridge is essentially a prosthetic piece that is held in place by a crown on either side which are placed on the adjacent teeth. The adjacent teeth are reshaped to be prepped for the crown placement, then the dentist will take a mold of the teeth to create the custom-built bridge. In the meantime, a temporary bridge will be worn. Once the permanent bridge is in place, you’ll want to make sure to maintain good oral hygiene and be aware of potential issues that may arise with a dental bridge. If the bridge feels loose at any time, you’ll want to contact your dentist to see if it needs to be reattached. Even when well cared for and vigilant oral hygiene, a dental bridge will likely need repair at some point. So stay vigilant and current with dental check-ups.
