Bridges Washington DC

bridgesA bridge may be used to replace missing teeth, help maintain the shape of your face, and alleviate stress on your bite.

A bridge replaces missing teeth with artificial teeth, looks great, and literally bridges the gap where one or more teeth may have been. Your bridge can be made from gold, alloys, porcelain, or a combination of these materials and is bonded onto surrounding teeth or implants for support.

The success of any bridge depends on its foundation — the other teeth, gums, or bone to which it is attached. Therefore, it's very important to keep your existing teeth, gums, and jaw healthy and strong.  There are often decisions to be made about using bridges, implants, or a combination.  We'll be sure to discuss the options with you so that you'll know enough to make the right decision for your mouth.

Linda's falling front bridge – Implant supported bridge

bridge
“My old bridge doesn’t look good and it hurts to bite on” This patient had split the front tooth that supported the bridge. The other bridge anchor was loose.

bridge
An implant supported bridge was constructed to replace the old one. The front tooth adjacent to the bridge was restored with a crown. Not all teeth are bright white-notice how well our great technician matched Linda's natural teeth.
